Jon Speed says in his book:

"Before WW1, the largest private French arms factory, Manufacture Francaise d'Armes et Cycles de St-Etienne (MANUFRANCE) made up sportting rifles, using military 98 actions and some Original Mauser actions obtained from the factory in Obendorf, and sold these direct to the public under the the aptly chosen tradename "Rival". Also during this period and through the Interwar years, many French sportting goods shops sold Original Obendorf Mauser sportting rifles. After WWII, MANUFRANCE built their own actions, and produced the entire "Rival" carbine at their factory in St-Etienne."

What is most amazing about the Springfield is that the seller advertises it as "Waffennummer" (serial number) 25! From the shape of the bolt handle it appears to be a low number action, but "25"??!!

That action looks like every FN Mauser I own. Stamp at the root of the bolt handle is the same as near as I can see.....same swept back bolt handle. ..........??? How about the collar inside, c ring or h ring ?

Brevex actions were made after year 1950 by Mr Polanski who has been an engineer at the Polish arms factory Fabryka Broni(FB) in Radom and emigrated to France after WWII.

Were all the Brevex actions, magnum length/size actions?

I think so ! There was no need after 1945 to build standart Mauser actions in France . Enough K 98 rifles in the country !

Polanski made actually two types of magnum actions; M300 for up to .375 H&H and M400 for like .416 Rigby and 505 Gibbs cartridges. They all were sold "in the white".

Lancaster, those are very nice looking Mausers. I even like the Springfield - a quick handling hunting rifle.

the springfield was very special and I cant understand it sold for only 900 euro.

Here, I'd expect the Springfield to bring in about $400.00 or even $500.00 at a stretch due to calibre.

Of course, I understand pricing is MUCH higher in Europe.
