"New" 1903 action

I bought today a 1903/14 Greek M-S action. It's in exceptionally good condition. I intend to build a rifle around it. I may be going off half cocked, but does anyone know a barrel maker that has the M-S dimensions in the computer? What about a stock? Is there a source of pre-inlet stocks for these rifles now that Fajen is gone?

About a stock, try www.gunstocks.com . My experience is good and I can only rcommend them.

I couldn't get the eschoder links to work. What can you tell me about fitting a barrel to the 1903 Greek action? Is the breach of the barrel finished square, or are cuts made for the extractor and ejector, somewhat along the lines of the 1895 Dutch Mannlichers? Anyone know of a barrel guy who might be able to barrel my action?

Barrel specifications are:
Barrel shank length -0.720 inches
Major diameter - 1.060 inches
Threads per inch - 12V

There is a groove across the face of the barrel about 0.10 inch in depth and slightly wider than the ejector. On my take-off barrel the groove is 0.433 inches wide but some references give it as 0.425 inches.

It's a pity you haven't got the original stock. Though the rudimentary pistol 'hand' looks like a first cousin to the SMLE, it can be sculpted into something so close to the early sporters' profile that I wonder if some makers utilised it. I employed a broken ebony elephant to make grip and fore end caps for mine, and it worked OK IMHO.

Can anyone elaborate more on the barrel dimensions posted by wjw? Is there a minor diameter? Root radius. Thread angle? Other information?
