what is happening with the club

Hey guys

what is going on with the club i havent seen anything new on here in a very long time just wondering if the club is still active

Hi Mate.

450Ackley and myself are putting on a two day Big Game shoot at Dalby on the 31st of this month.

I only get to go to about three a year.

Good fun but everyone just seems to be getting less time for these sort of things.

wish i was closer i dont think there is anyone down my way wagga wagga that would be into it but if anyone is im always willing to catch up

.went into the local gunshop just after i moved down here just before xmas and told him my plans of one day building a .470nitro on a no.1 i have in the safe and of this year buying a merkel in .450/400 he really didn't seem to give a shit and said the biggest ammo he has sold was for a .416 rigby and that was that mind you there wasn't anyone in the shop so he wasn't busy i got a little disappointed.even going out for a shot with my mates dad on their farm he wasn't even slightly interested of having a shot of my 9.3x62 "you don't need anything bigger than a 30-06 in australia is what he say's alot haha

I took up BGR shooting purely to have another reason for having a 458,404,375 and and and in Qld with all the talk about a Qld reason for owning anything bigger than 308.

I contacted 450Ackley and found that I enjoyed it and have made some great mates as well.

I dont need to do it as I have plenty of shooting here but we stay over night as a rule and make a weekend of it.

All good fun.

that sounds unreal ive been waiting to hear about any shoot's at mudgee even if it was just to go check it out so i knew what it was all about for the next shoot and to meet a few people.im looking at building my own charging target within the next few months just something powered by gravity that runs down wire rope on a bearing or two

The BGRC Nationals will be in Tasmania in July too.

A notice will be posted about them if it hasn't been posted already.

how often are shoot's actually on are they regular or just when they can be run

Done it.

Well "Huntersheart" did it at my old mans place.

We start with an empty rifle and call pull.

Exactly why I joined the Perth BGRC! Now I have a Beretta Double, a 375H&H, 338WM and 458WM in the safe, with a 416Ruger awaiting licensing and a 500NE being built! Plus I've met some really good guys with a similar afflication and way worse gun buying habits than myself...just need to get the wife to meet them, and she'll realise I could be much worse!!

Wouldn't have had a hope in hell of getting any of them for hunting in WA!

sounds good to me i'm lucky my mrs has seen some of my gunsmiths collection and know's my collection is nothing to be worried about

she just wants me to get her another rifle before i get a new one
