He`s a big old stag this bloke

I found 1/2 a dozen sambar last night,15-20 mins before dark and this old giant took my eye,once again the poor light and distance defeated my photo intentions.
Note his size even though he is behind the junior stag by some metres. A pair of forward hooked long beams and not much else on his head shows him to be past his use by date as a trophy stag..I bet he has shown his arse to many hunters over all the years.
He is indeed a very big boy.

Hamburger maybe - but I ate one old bull moose that was laden down with fat, being past breeding - just ate & slept day after day, I guess. The meat was fantastic - more like prime rib than any game animal- sweet and tender.

Going by the rakes on his side he still is in the fight,I have eaten some old bulls as you say Daryl and they have been 'bloody good ' too.
Much younger is preferred of course.

A nice slow Electric Cooker, does wonders for old meat.
