For Sale Brno 602 .375H&H
      #190886 - 28/09/11 08:09 AM

Hi Everyone,

I have 'For sale' this lovely Brno 602 as I have to pay for my Taxidermy from my South African Safari.

Brno 602, It is in .375H&H and is a lovely rifle. When I purchased it the previous owner must have changed the Rear sight but it is now back to the way it should be. It shows that is was made in 1984 and I paid $1500 for it and am selling it for the same amount plus postage to your dealer of choice.

Item.: Brno 602
Caliber.: .375H&H
Price.: $1500 (plus postage to dealer)
Condition.: Very Good Condition
Licence No.: 405722685
Transfer Through.: GunPro Dubbo

Cheers,

Jeff Gray

That is one of the nicest Brno 602's I have seen.
I currently own and have owned more than a few.

I think the 1980's series was quite a good batch.

Doesn't look like any ZKK602 I've seen or owned, They've all been Euro stocked - humpty-back camels. I really like this one more, even though I liked the Euro's. The others only had a single express sight. This one looks like it has a couple extra leaves. This appears to be a custom re-stock? It's lovely, btw, but I personally prefer the set trigger.

Daryl

I think we have / had different models over here as I have seen both, straight stocked and hump back.

My Brno's have more than 1 leaf.

You're right - standing point blank sight + one leaf only, and 5+1 round capacity, amazing for a magnum round. Worked wel on a flock of coyotes - HA!

Don't all the 602's have the "Lee-Enfield-style" trigger-pinned-to-the-trigger-guard?

I thought 602's came with a set trigger, or some did.

Most people changed them over for a single non set trigger.

I still have the set trigger for one of my Brno's.

Thought my trigger was action pinned. Now, I don't remember. I preferred the set trigger to the standard.

I would say someone built up a Sambar rifle by the looks.

Custom stock with a shortened barrel as well as a barrel band sling swivel added.

Not original but that is a good thing as it is the same mods I would do.

The Brno's came into the country with the set trigger fitted and the standard trigger in a cloth bag with a bolt take down tool.
A lot of the standard triggers were lost.

Daryl,if you have any standard triggers you dont need I will buy them from you.

A very nicely customised 602, but not original... which as Fatboy404 says is not a bad thing, the factory stocks were often very soft wood and frequently split at the tang.

Its true that most ZKK's coming into Australia were fitted with a unique straight set trigger, with a conventional one supplied in a cloth bag with bolt take-down tool and an anti-rattle spring.

Most 602's I've seen however, have been fitted with the conventional trigger from new... and featured in the original ZKK brochure as such:

Note barrel band swivel and standard stock style set up for open sights on the LHS, with optional deluxe version with cheekpiece on the RHS.

Same here as in bold type.

Sorry, Neale - none left.

Come on, there must be someone wanting to hunt Big Game in N.S.W. that can appreciate a weapon in probably one of the best if not the best caliber of all times.

Hi 500Nitro,

I agree with you and that is the way it is now. The photos were taken just after I got it but have now put the correct sights on the rifle. I still have the other one for the purchaser if required.

Cheers,

Jeff Gray

Jeff

one of mine is just like that, short(er) barrel, straight stocked.

They are an awesome rifle like that, easy to carry, light(er) than the originals which can be a bit heavy (and that's coming from someone who carries a 12 - 13 lb rifle around !!!).

I'd suggest advertising it around the deer hunting areas of Vic.

Try used guns.

That way you are marketing the gun to the whole of Australia,
not just a select few.

Apart from the Big bore aspect, I don't think NE has the numbers or the right target market. (Then again, I think AHN is an even worse target market !!! LOL).

If you were in Vic, I'd suggest which gun shops to possibly put it in.

Nice looking rifle. That stock is not the standard one is it?

Looks to have been custom re-stocked.

Nice rifle, Jeff. That wasn't the .375H&H named "Father" was it? You still have that one, I think. I'm lookin'-forward to seeing the taxidermy.

Hi Ben,

No that was the one I bought whilst "Father" & "Son" was being made. I was told the Taxidermy will be New Year possibly by March.

Cheers Mate,

Jeff
