I narrowly missed a chance to pick this rifle up a few months ago, so when the opportunity presented itself in December I jumped on it. Mannlicher-stocked Empire Rifles 7x57, built on the Dumoulin action before they started making their own. For the record, I like Empire's in-house action better, and the more common matte finish, but who could pass on a full-stock 7x57 with these options?

Congrats to that fine rifle.
If it were mine ,I would change the hex screws.

There is nothing like a "Stutzen" or fullstoked carbine for stalking in the forrest..except maybe for a small "doppelbüchsen" in 7x57R..
Congrantulation with your rifle. It lookes very fine .

I probably won't do that, but I agree with you that it doesn't look "right". The other screws are slotted and properly timed, and that makes the allen-headed bolts stick out.

That's one great piece of kit, how can you go wrong with a "Stutzen" in 7x57, absolutely beautiful.
Cheers,
