Request for Lipsey Ruger No 1 450/400 NE 3" Part Numbers
      #158759 - 12/04/10 04:56 AM

I am hoping this post can reach someone who has the Ruger instruction manual for a Lipsey model Ruger No 1 in 450/400 NE 3". I am searching for the part number the associated Ruger instruction manual has assigned to the rear express sight and the front sight blade. Thanks in advance.

I have a 450/400 Lipseys but the manual is a standard one but I read on this or another forum the Hawkeye model sights should fit and are the same.

Thanks very much for your quick reply. I was hoping I could sort out this Ruger No 1 express sight issue for my 450/400. I figured out that Ruger must have used the express rear sight from the M77 Hawkeye, so I bought one and installed it. My rifle shot 12" low at 50 yards with the Hornady 400 grain softpoint factory load.
The M77 Hawkeye has the same express rear sight but the front sight blades are different heights, one for the African model and another for the Alaskan model. I'm thinking that the two heights makes up for the difference in the muzzle velocity difference between the 375 Ruger and the 416 Ruger. The Alaskan M77 Hawkeye offers the 416 Ruger where the African model does not - go figure!
Does your 450/400 shoot to point of aim at 50 yards with the installed Ruger express sights?
Thanks again.

Torpex,
If by Lipsey's you mean the Boddington series ... the front is by NECG. The true source of the rear leaf remains a mystery. If you contact NECG, they will forward it to Recknegal who will state its a custom looking thing and not one of theirs. A lot of NECG stuff is Recknagel.
Cheers...
Con
