FYI---Talked to Ian Gibson (Chifuti Safaris) the other day--apparently for the first time in recent history, 4 lioness permits are available this year as a result of all the predation being done on the local buffalo herds...

Think the total cost with trophy fees is going to be around $10,000. US...

Hell of a hunt if you could do it on foot...

Well, maybe even if you don't.

The first time I hunted Chewore North Safari Area an American killed a Lioness with PH Buzz Charlton. The next season they stopped Lioness hunting.
In no time the Lion numbers built up to the point where Buffalo numbers were getting servilely hammered.
Would indeed make a great late season tracking hunt . Providing the hunter is fit.

Yeah, right!

I talked to Dave 10 minutes ago trying to set up one of these hunts. He said he got four lioness tags just before Dallas and three are sold. 12 days, $1250/day, plus trophy fee and plains game cost. I would have grabbed a $10k cat instantly...

Sorry Ripp, but ain't gonna' happen for $10k.He said even Boddington pays full tilt and Chifuti sells out each year.

Believe me - I worked like an unemployed hooker, all to no avail.

Perhaps they like hunting with Ripp!
I'd charge Boddington full price as well
