Sabatti 600 nitro express
      #142401 - 20/09/09 02:54 PM

I got one ordered from Jeremy at www.jmwguns.com and he told me to expect 60 days. I ordered the plain one for $2500.00+ shipping. Looking forward to it!

Matthew

The word is that the engraved ones will be in the first shipment. And it'll be later this fall for that one to come in. Chances are that the plain ones will be towards winter/spring.

they told me after the owner got back from Russia and Italy that the next batch will be 375's 458's and maybe 450,and the 600 will be last to be delivered will have to be patient.as you can expect the 600's will have the least amount of profit look at the cost of regulation.so from a business stand point that makes sense to me.i think they would want the 600's done by the shot show to show case their line.i have had my order in since day 2 of the shot show 2009.i know it takes time to build a double of that magnitude and it has to be done right to be safe.i do expect the price to sky rocket after the first few come out, don't you.shear supply and demand.who ever gets one early will jack up the price further than suggested sale.look how long we waited for shooting the english double 3.but 60 days i dont think so

My sentiments, too.

What is the quality of the steel and skill of regulation, guarantee?

It would be a cryin shame to get a .600 that shot off the face in 60 rounds and that wouldn't put two shots on to an oil drum at 50 steps anyhow...

If the gun IS put together well, I think they'll sell like hotcakes, that is, hotcakes as it pertains to the market for .600's.

Has anybody had experience with these guns {even in other calibers}?

There was an O/U Sabatti thae was for sale on GB and I asked the owner about the overall fit and quality of it. He waas a PH from Africa ( I did google him and he's real)and seemed to know his stuff. He said while it wasn't old English it was good.

BUT at AR a european gent said that their shotguns were krap..

So it's a krap shoot about the quality!

Well I know what it costs to put a 577 NfB together on a Shotgun action (refer the 577 Light Nitro that Marrakai has written about on his web site and on here) and that was built
on a Aus $400 Greener Empire shotgun action and the thing still cost more than a few thousand to build, regulate etc etc.

600 Nitro barrels don't come cheap (does anything over .510 come cheap nowadays).

I just find $2500 and unbelievable price, that's all.

And as someone pointed out, a 600 Nitro double that comes off the face after 60 rounds isn't any use to anyone.

bwana
the calibres you have listed are pretty hot calibres
- 375H&H, 458 ???? OR are they generic calibres for the 375 and 450 flanged versions ?

Unless I missed it, nothing I read in that thread indicates anybody has had experience putting a good number of bullets thru one of these guns.

Has anybody here?

Hey, if it comes off, great. Good luck to you all.

If these guns are so "cheap" them why are the other guns
made by them also not as cheap ?

After all, they already make O/U Double rifles.

I've asked for a 450 Rigby NE. I realize that for the money we're buying a 'pig in a poke' for quality.
Time will tell if it's a boomer or a bust.

I have put 154 rounds through my 7x65R it is still tight. No malfunctions of any kind and the trigger pulls are great!

I am still trying to get a really good shooting load with the scope. My best load so far is about 4" for 4 shot groups at 100 yards with a scope. Left bbl likes to shoot low but I am working on that by changing the OAL. If I can find a way to get it consistently hitting the same height 3" or even 2" groups at 100 yards may be possible for a quick R and L two shot group.

Mine is a SXS and there are pics of it in the thread you linked above.

I am no expert on jugging the workmanship of double rifles but it is safe to say it is 10 times better than the Baikal SxS I had for 3 times the cost. All indications so far tell me it is worth the money I payed for it.

Sorry I forgot you posted pics of it.. Must be the 'old timers' kicking in...
Did you ever figure out what scope rings fit it?

With the help of some really great and knowledgable members here, I have decided to build a 577 on a 10 gauge action. Cost of donor gun is $700.00. Barrels quoted at $230.00 each. This did not include chambering. So I will either build a shooters grade 577 for not too much money, or I will ruin a good donor gun and two barrel blanks trying!

$230 each for the 577 barrels isn't bad at all.

Just don't forget to work out how many hours you spend
and then multiply it by XX$ per hour

As long as it takes me to get something finished, I should just go buy a Royal Grade Holland and Holland!
that of course would mean start to finish time....not actual working time!

Are you going for the 577 3" or the 577 2 3/4" ?

I assume you plan on using jacketed bullets or are you
thinking of lead one's as well ?

Have a look at Marrakai's loads for the Nfb / Light Nitro
gun that he has, packs a real wollop on pigs and buffalo.

It will be a 3". I am still unsure what regulation load we will use, but I do have a bullet mould for lead bullets.
