A Custom built FN in 458 Win Mag - Awesome

458 Win Mag is my second most favorite caliber. (only surpassed by my 416 caliber rifles) This my 7th rifle in 458 Win Mag. I'm still trying to research the maker. If anyone has a suggestion, please reply. The action is properly glass bedded with double cross-bolts in the stock. The barrel has a full length Rib with an unusual rear sight - that is very functional. The action is drilled and tapped so I may add a scope in the future. The name John Howell that is stamped in stock was the owner. He was a big time Collector and many of his guns and collectables sold at an estate auction in 2022. This rifle was not in that auction. I will continue researching, and will try to remove the ugly muzzle brake. Field test to follow.

458 win mag is the most underrated round going I think. Great round. Pretty interesting rifle Buckstix. Serious brake. Rear sight and rib is something you don't see every day either.

APPARENTLY SOME PEOPLE CAN SEE MY PHOTOS AND SOME CAN'T. ALL MY PHOTOS LINK DIRECTLY T0 (AND ARE UPLOADED FROM) MY WEB PAGE - WHICH IS TOTALLY SAFE. www.BUCKSTIX.COM CHECK THE SECURITY SETTINGS ON YOUR COMPUTER - THEY MAY BE SET TOO HIGH.

For good reasons. Maybe you need to clean up your website so it doesn't trigger warnings. I am just a messenger here so don't shoot us. This is not the first time people have had issues with your postings. I time you are the issue. I can easily just skip over you but I don't think that is what you want other wise you won't post. You get to choose. Look in the mirror. You will see the problem I am sure.

I have been posting photos here and other forums for over 20 years. My web page is under Microsoft Control and is secure. I have almost 1,000,000 hits on my web page - only 5,700 to go www.buckstix.com

If you don't want to change your security settings, so be it - your loss, not mine. I have had others change there settings and then all was good with seeing my photos. Most problems of seeing my photos have been with smart phones, not computers.

Did you notice that Claydog had no problem seeing the photos?

FYI, I post on Accurate Reloading Forum, and the Double Gun Shop Forum, and this Nitro Express Forum, and the 24hourcampfire Forum, and the Gunboards Forum, and the AficaHunting Forum, and the German Gun Collectors Forum, and the British Military Forum, and the BladeSmiths Forum, and the American Civil War Forum, and the Cast Bullet Association Forum, and the Long Range hunting Forum, and the muzzleloading Forum, and the Engraving Forum, and the Colt Forum, and the Knife Talk Forum, and the handengraving Forum, and the knife talk Forum, and the Shotgun Forum, and the sixgun forum, and the firearms Forum, and marlin firearms Forum, and the Indians for guns Forum, and others.

Only a few of those members have had problems seeing my photos, until they corrected their security settings.

All things considered, I choose NOT to change anything on my end. Not my problem.

For those that had problems seeing my photos .... I just had a fellow forum member send me a PM telling that he also had a "SECURITY ALERT" when clicking the link to my photos. He said the alert had an option that said "more info" and that took him to a page that gave him the option to "ignore warning and trust this site" - which he chose, and all was good for seeing my photos. My web page is private and secure and not a spam site.

It is quite possible that someone, perhaps the GVT has attached trackers to your site. That is the warning I get from my antiviral program.

My sites (I have 4 independent web sites) are checked, and cleaned, regularly for infiltration of viruses. They are all secure. Do you get an error message when logging into my buckstix web page?

This is the message I get when I try to view the 458.

UPDATE ***

We had a remarkable warm day today - 62 degrees. That's about 30 degrees above normal. So off to the range to test this little cannon. I fired 2 loads - a 350g fun load, and a 500g hunting load. I was able to remove the muzzle brake and I tested the 500g load with-and-without the brake. The recoil was very manageable and quit frankly there wasn't much difference in felt recoil with-and-without the brake. (sights will be adjusted before the next outing)

as always, your comments are most welcome
