Just back from a collaborative restoration by Steve Bertram & Aaron Little:

26" barrels, 14 1/2' LOP, weighs 9lbs 3oz s Sold to Capt. R.B. Brassey of 17th Lancers on 13May1905 between his service in the Boor War and then posting to India.
Reregulated and ribs relaid by Aaron Little. Rejoint, pick up barrel engraving, polish, and "London" reblack by Steve Bertram. My load is 60.0 grains of Reloader 19, Fed 215 primer, and Woodleigh 310 grain bullets for a period correct ~2010'/sec. Bertram offers proper head stamp brass and common 9.3x74R brass is easily formed to make fine usable brass.

Beautiful restoration.
A .358 310 gr bullet at 2000 fps plus, is a dangerous game killer, fine for buffalo where legal.
And as it has been re-regulated you know it will shoot to regulation.
Should be a very worthwhile double rifle.

That's decent ballistics. I know for a fact that a .358 250gr. at 2,160fps works wonderfully on BIG moose.

Add my admiration to the pile. Rising bite Rigbys rock!
I should add: just last evening watched one of Dig's short youtube videos on a 16-bore rising bite sidelock. The name on the rib and lock-plates? No, not Rigby....
Thomas Bissell!
Look forward to your range report when the weather improves, Mike.

Good you got in again. Woodleigh said recently they're making most SP bullets again 8mm to .500.

Fire Update 21.02.2025 Thank you for your patience and support, it has been frustrating for all concerned.
We have most soft nose bullets back in stock from #06 500 Nitro SN to #64E 8x57I here in Australia. Just starting with exports of this new stock.
There will be two new USA stockists, who will have supplies in next two months. All going well.

Smaller calibres coming soon. We will not be making any FMJ this year. If an FMJ is needed please use our Hydrostatically Stabilised solids.

What do we think about using their Hydro solids in a 120 year old Rigby double!?
