I got an package from an old gentleman, now retired but working 40 years for Schmidt&Bender. two older scopes coming back from him that had problems before and I am very, very pleased with his work. think this scopes are now technical close to new. the Ajack 4x90 for my 375 NE 2,5" had a big problem with the focus setting and the front ring holding the lens was brocken. the little 2,5x Kaps is for my 6,5x53R Mannlicher with H&H side mount. it was very hard to move the part and the scope was looking dirty inside. both scopes are ready now for the next hundred years. pay 240 euro for them what is imho a very good price for a work only few man on this planet can do anymore.
this gentleman dont want to read his name in the net but you also dont reach him there. if you have an old german scope - no matter how old(before WW 2 or before WW 1, could be 19. century stuff) - with technical problems dont wait to long before the age take such specialist out of service. allways willing to help anyone here like I allways did and will make the contakt.

the 2,5 Kaps, the pic dont shows how good it is now

Lancaster. Thank you for this useful information. I understood that you would be the point of contact in case of repair requirement, but in which country would the scopes have to be sent, Germany? Regards. Louis

yes, scope have to send to germany
the focus is on germans copes because of the leading role of the german optical goods industry but I think he will work on other scopes too because there is nothing new under the sun. he need to have it in the hand just to see if its doable. nothing you can decide on the phone

Lancaster I have a Skopar B Voitlander that I'd like to have cleaned and the outside finish brought back. Where do I send it and do I need to send payment with it?

thats just the right thing for him
I will send you his address with a pm and you can send it directly to him. he will disassemble the scope clean it, repair whats necessary and seal it new. outside everything will be done to bring it to the original finish. sometimes things can be brocken when dissambling such stuff like the ring that was holding the lens in front of my Ajack. you will not seen that he had made a new one, its perfect. he will take a look on it and give me a call what have to be done and what it will cost ( if nothing happen). only when the work is done you send the money and the scope comes back.
you have my word if that count

I had excellent service from Nickel when they refurbished an old 4x36 Nickel scope for me. It worked nicely on a red deer hind at 200 metres with my 6.5x55 and 140 grain bullets. They are on the www.

Hello, sir.
Would you PM or Email the address of the scope repair gentleman to me?
My Grandfather's old MS1910 wears a Gerard 'B' that could use some work.
Thank you, Brian Rothhammer

Lancaster,
Could your friend clean and refurbish a pre-war Zeiss "Starmor" spotting scope? I have one that is optically good, with tripod and case, but dirty. Also the threaded screw-on pieces (don't know the proper word) are missing on two of the three eyepieces. These will have to be fabricated unless replacements are available.
Many thanks
