Been thinking about getting one of these to play with. The website lists the weight at 9.5 lbs. If this is the case, would recoil be uncontrollable? This seems mighty light! But I was thinking this would be a relatively inexpensive way to get into a 500 Jeffrey. They are listed at $2500.00

I expect that Sako has a greedy dentist for a CEO. I currently own a Sako Kodiak in .375H&H, and the recoil is very tolerable, but none the less brisk as it tends to be in all the many Sakos I've owned. To be clear, I am rabidly in love with the Sako products, but the stock shape is not as effective in reducing felt recoil as it could be for my liking..... In a very serious caliber, I shudder to think what it would do to the fillings in my teeth..... just sayin'.........

Yes. They're listed at aprox. $2500 in the US. I too have a Sako Kodiak 375, and the 500 is only listed at 1.5lbs heavier in weight. Wish they made it in 458 Lott. But something about a 500 just seems a little more....

Good luck with that. My CZ 550 in 500 Jeffery weighs 12 lbs with a Leupold 1.5-5x scope and Talley QR rings, I wouldn't want it a bit lighter.
