Friend of mine has a cut up Remington. Rolling block barrel in 43 Spanish.besides 43 Spanish any thoughts on 425 Westley Richards in a mauser action. I know it was a black powder barrel but has a real nice bore and its cheap.can't see and other cartage that uses that bore.

Pressure is what you make it, in any chambering with handloads.

The max for that barrel will be about 28,000psi/cup, the max for a BP load with about 75gr. black powder and a 340gr. bullet.

Will it hold with more pressure? - anybody's guess - but - I would not bet for it.

I'm sure someone out there with a shot out bore Remington would greatly appreciate having this barrel to help with a correct restoration to original specs. Maybe in exchange they would give you your barrel of choice out of modern steel.
