If you live in California, our esteemed Govenator just banned all 50 caliber bolt action rifles with a stroke of his pen last night, the 13th. This ban includes single shots.
So much for a change in adminstration from Davis. Apparently, when it comes to lies and holding up the platform he ran on, Arnold isn't any different than our previous idiot.
If you don't live in California, do understand that this law is coming to your home town. Vote wisely or lose miserably.

...i suppose this would include .500 jeffereys' and .505 gibbs'...
...if so, i would think that arnie's action may be subject to judicial review for being over-broad and not reasonably related to the expressed public safety concern...

Thomas, Actually the ban is limited to 50 Cal BMG. However, that is not the bad part. The really bad part is they simply redefined an "assault weapon" to include bolt action 50 cal BMG. So, now bolt action rifles are "dangerous weapons" so you know where that is going to go.
Even Gray Davis didn't sign this bill when it came up in his term. So, perhaps throwing Davis out was not such a good idea afterall.

Thomas,
The assault rifle ban expiration will have no effect as CA has its own ban on so called assault rifles. All AB50 did was expand that law to include any bolt action 50 BMGs. Now, of course, they can expand AB50 to include any cartridge with Magnum in its name or any cartridge that has more than 2500 ft lbs in muzzle energy, etc.
Check out http://www.gunownersca.com/ for more information. This is clearly the most active group supporting CA gun owners rights in CA today.
With Arnold signing AB50, it is clear his campange promise of "I want to enforce existing gun laws rather than pass new ones" is simply BS just to get the gun owners votes. Clearly, this lying traitor doesn't deserve another term.

What an idiot, if his real motive is to reduce crime then he would have been MUCH better off restricting pistol access as more than 90% of gun offences are commited with pistols! (I do not support banning pistol, I must make this very clear, I am just saying that he would reduce crime better by restricting pistol use than he would by banning .50cals)
I am now very thankful to not live in CA...

His life was based around pretending to be something he is not.
I guess he is better at it than most people realised.
