I found that shooting my 12 pound .577 VSRE (same ballistics as the .577NE) was easier than 8.75 pound .505 SRE (same ballistics as the .500 NE), but that I had to step back two steps each time I fired it, something not always possible in the game field, so I never used it as a hunting rifle.

We may have a winner. (as far as the photos go)

4 bore single barrel muzzleloader. A "true 4" with a 1.053 bore and .012 deep rifling. 1.028 diameter ball and 375 grains of 2 F powder.
The man is 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.
