I've been looking into synthetic or laminate stocks for my son's new rifle. Have any of you guys purchased and used a Bell and Carlson stock? What are your thoughts on their product?
Thanks, Eric

Ripp,
I like the HS as well. I guess I should have mentioned that I'm dealing with a Vz 24 action. I don't think HS makes a stock for Mausers.
Thanks, Eric

I looked high and low for Mauser Syn`s for quite some time..McM`s are way over the top in price Hogue make for`98`s too.. Wild Dog dont do a Mauser either and there are a few other cheaper mobs...my B+C on order is for a `98 and its the full ally bedding block model too for the 358 NM being built for me. It was either the Hogue or B+C for me for value for money and I swung to the B+C due to prior experience with the other`s I mentioned.

Agree-between the two--think the B&C is better out of the two..years ago, I built a custom for my first caribou hunt to AK--used that same stock with the full bedding..while it is the entire combination of items, such as barrel quality, loads, etc..have to believe it contributed to a group I shot before the trip that was basically a one hole at 100 yards and 1.75 at 450...still have those targets somewhere--while not benchrest quality I am sure--for a hunting rifle, more than adequate..

I like the HS. I think it is a firm step up from the B&C if you want to spend more.

how could anyone argue with this evidence below as a testament to quality?
and 1.75 at 450...still have those targets somewhere-

G'Day Fella's,
Ripp, if you don't mind me asking. what caliber was your Caribou Rifle and what bullet (make & weight) were you using?
For future reference, I just like to know what other Hunters are using, to shoot particular game.

600-Yard World Record Light Gun David Stripling Sets IBS Record 1.071" Group with 6BR-DX Other Guns of the Week > Last July, North Carolina's David Stripling, a relative newcomer to the long-range BR game, posted a stunning 1.071" 5-shot group at one of Piedmont's 600-yard IBS matches. Officially approved just this week, David's new Light Gun record cuts about 0.29" off the previous IBS LG record (1.363" by Greg Cullpepper). And get this, David posted a 2.590" 20-shot Agg, despite having one mid-4" group. David's 6BR-DX rifle, smithed by Doug Paschall, (336) 731-4618, features a 10-twist, 25" Krieger barrel. Notably, David set the new mark using flat-based 88gr Berger bullets pushed by a very stout load of Reloader 15. We give credit to David and Doug for "pushing the envelope" at 600 yards--not just copying the same old 107 SMK + Varget formula. thats some world class shooting for a hunting rifle thats great.
