G'Day Fellow Big Bores!
I recently purchased a custom built B/action rifle in .404 Jeffery and I am looking for some load data that proved Safe and reliable from other 404 owners.

Giday Homer, In my 404 I had some origional RWS and Kynoch loads that I fired for comparative loading when I was developing loads. The RWS loads were at 2315fps ove the chrono and ADI 2209 - H4350 at 84gn gave 2335fps. I found the ADI site very conservative and it was under the Kynoch traditional loading. The Kynoch load was at 2192fps where ADI is advocating 2100fps and while that will work it is way down on what the cartridge is sensably capable of.

Kamalaroi the load you have quoted is for 2209 not 2208. I got to 77gn 2208 and while I got 2270fps accuracy was not there. While 80gn might have been posible I would not quote that as a load for someone looking for data.

80+grns of 08 is not recommended but will produce a velocity of 2350+. 78grns of 2208 should produce around 2280fps.

Some old Norma data I had on my computer
