I used 1 in 20 , Don't recall what the original Schulers were off hand. I think CZ used 1 in 16.5. Correctionby an owner: 1 in 10?) A friend built his with a 1 in 14.

I'm pretty sure the CZ Custom Shop uses 1 in 10" McGowen barrels for their 500 Jefferys. Mine arrives in a week or so.

I finally had a chance to check my rifle last night. It measures 1 in 15" This rifle is very accurate, or it has proved so in other peoples hands.I have had some success with it as well. I'm still curious to hear from other 500J owners regarding stris rates.

A good question! I think what you want and dependent of the origin of the barrel's, some people use 50BMG barrel's! Normally i think today 1/10"!
