Gentlemen, been following your experiments on the 12 guage FH. I've noticed that most of your projectiles are having a blunt rounded look. I'm guessing here that the reason for that is maximum shock effect. Have you tried projectiles with a more streamlined shape. Sort of the shape of a 20mm projectile with flat base. With the streamlined nose you could possibly generate more feet per second velocity with less powder?. Maybe add a gas check on the back end to help seal off any expanding gasses that might leak by. Just like the do with cast boolits. Frank

I think that the blunt nose assures a more streight line when penetrating an animal.

Also, to achieve a long, streamlined shape, weight would increase, as would recoil. Velocity must necessarily be reduced to make recoil tolerable.
