Neat gun, I wonder how the triggerplate action holds up on the larger calibres over time?

It is not 'nice' it is spectacular. There is a certain inherent beauty when looking at a true round action DR that, IMHO, cannot be found in any other type of double. I have two 'non-traditional' round bodied doubles, a Hoening Rotary Round Action in a 9.3X74R and a Ferlib hammer round body double in the same chambering. I treasure them both. If I was to have a new rifle custom built from a UK builder, it would be the David McKay Brown round action, and I would get it in the configuration above, albiet in a 450-400 3"

I wonder how he gets the mass distribution correct for a best quality gun with such a trim action? Both of my .450s have massive actions to concentrate the weight in the center. Must really thin out the barrels.

Roughly £46,000 pounds would get you in the door.

I do not have one of his DR's, however I do own a side by side 20 bore, and a over & under 20 bore - Both are my favorite shotguns to hunt with. They point like no other shotgun I have ever used.

Sadly a bit too expensive for me to carry on Safari in modern day Africa or on flights to and from.
