I've been looking for a Sequoia for about 4 years. Finally scored.

All Sequoias were originally chambered in .30-'06.

Many unsold examples were rechambered by Steyr for cartridges more popular in European markets, others were simply overstamped with the metric designation for .30-'06 (7.62X63).

Casper50, I had one and sold it to a friend who still has it. Hopefully you can chime in with it's serial number. If that is of interest to anyone.

I have the one LRF mentions. Serial no. is 56x, top of the barrel is marked Sequoia 416. I don't know but assume the 416 is the Sequoia co. number. I'm curious about the barrel stamp yours Casper.

Great to finally finish the collection, the rifle looks in very good condition as well.

Mike,

That is a wondeful find. I have also looked for a Sequoia but have not found one. Your rifle is excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on your collection addition. Were any Sequoia's made in take-down configuration?

I don't know but doubt it as they were all to be sold in the US. All didn't make it over from what I've heard though, so maybe.

Here is mine again. One of the M1924s that never left Europe. Steyr factory serial number 299. It retains the original steel trap buttplate. Steyr “factory mounted” with a Kahles “Heliavier” 4x scope in Vienna style snap-on mounts. As the front scope base is soldered over the barrel reinforce, I don’t know if there is any Seqoia inscription or number on the barrel. I am not curious enough to unsolder the scope base just to have a look. As you see, it is the only one known so far with the “M1924” inscription overstamped with KAL:7.62x63.

That surely is the top of the line for a .30'06! Congratulations.

Well done Casper!
It's always nice to here someone getting a rifle that they always have wanted for special reasons, being a certain model, make or just calibre.
Certainly looks well looked after, hope you take it out for deer soon enough!
