I am getting ready to launch on my next ( and last) M95 Dutch Mannlicher build and have kicked around the idea of this one being a full lenght stock but......what is the average lenght of the full stocked rifles. I know they have different lenghts but I guess what balances best I am thinking 22 to 24 max??
If I stick with 6.5 X 53R I am going to have to buy a reamer, but thinking 7 X 57R Which should work in the clips. Anyway thinking out loud.

Try the 7x57R's in the clip & even if you remove the barrel to test feed first - just to see if it is possible to function. Otherwise you might be going down a rabbit hole - hopefully Lancaster will chime in non this one, I'm sure he's worked on these before? Sounds a good project though Roland!

I'm in the same boat you are. I have a Dutch Hemburg action and a stock from the defunct Great America Gunstock Co.
I'm considering making mine in 6.5x57R or 303 Brit. Both rounds are easy to get. May also consider the 7x57R. I need to dig out a clip to see if the 6.5x57R fits.
At one time I considered the 444 Marlin.

With a .311 or .312" groove diameter, the .303 would be a cool choice.
