Does the 1253.49 mean the rifle was built by either Austrian gunmaker Franz Schmid or maker Franz Schmeid?

Perhaps one of the numerous rifles made for the post-war occupant.
Seems to have been completed October 1939, then embellished and finally proofed in 1949.

Thanks Dorleac.I might have thought ".49" was Franz Schmid.Would there be a maker's mark anywhere? http://www.hallowellco.com/Ferlach%20gunmakers_code_numbers.htm

Most of these rifles were customized for some "boss" of the occupant force.
Albin was a top notch engraver of Ferlach but the time was difficult and any work was good to take.
Until 1945 the marking 49.xxxx (followed by serial number) was the proof house code for Franz Schmeid, after 1945 it becomes the code for Franz Schmid. Notice that the code is before the SN, not after.
1253.49 above proof marks indicates that's the 1253 rifle proofed in 1949.
All this must be confirmed by a close examination of the different markings.

The engraver's name is to the right of the stag's forleg if you magnify it.Do you think it was Albin or his son Han's that engraved the rifle?I thought it might have been Schmeid's work because I found this drilling that has a similar buttstock. http://www.gunauction.com/buy/13910066

Appears to be the work of the late Albin and the stock bears no more than a traditional and comon Austrian cheekpiece.

Rifle was made by Josef Mischitz.
