What would be a good price
      #278941 - 08/03/16 08:29 AM

I found a nice MS in .375 Rimless that is absolutely beautiful to me. I do not have the funds at the moment, but if it is still available, what would be a good price for one of these? I will post the link to see what the opinions are

I don't know the value, but the condition is approximately LOVELY!
Colour case on the bottom metal is very nice, including the grip cap.

Joshua. I noticed that on the professional sales circuit, prices for classic pre-WW2 Mannlicher-Schoenauer rifles in mint condition tended to be almost similar on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The price asked on GI for the .375 Rimless looks fair to me and I paid last year the same price in France for a similar MS 1910 rifle. Best regards. Louis

I concur, nice rifle, very reasonable price if as described.

And it has a fat recoil pad! Essential in such a light rifle IMHO.

The one in my custody still has the original steel butt-plate, complete with trap, and they were slightly crescent-shaped.
At the end of our Big Game Rifle shoots, including several sets of 2 shots in 10 seconds, the sharp toe has usually damn-near punctured my pec!

Thank you all for the replies. I have looked at these types of rifles off and on over the years but keep coming to the same conclusion. I want one. From reading thru some of the posts in this forum, and from past articles, I dream to own one in the above caliber or the 6.5x54. Around here, our game is by no means large so either of the above would be perfect. And with the short lighter weight of these, a perfect for our type of hunting

It appears to me that it's a 'Takedown' version. Very nice.
Last year (March '15) I paid £650/$900 (currency rate back then) for my M1903 6.5x54 Takedown.
Right now I expect the price could be around $1,000 - $1650
But really, it's worth whatever someone will pay.
