1950 Rebore

I have been searching for a M-S 9.3x62 and every one I have found (not a lot) are $5000 and up. I have found a couple of M-S 1950 and 1952s in .270 and .30-06 that are not collector rifles and am thinking about having one rebored and rechambered to 9.3x62mm. Would this require the rotor to be changed or modified? Has anyone done this before?

I believe that the rotor would need to be changed and they are not easy to rework.

I have one which I had rebored to 9.3X62 from .270 by Clearwater Reboring (Jim Dubell). It did involve some alteration of the magazine, but the associated Delta Gun Shop took care of it. Unfortunately, Jim died last year, and the business is being closed.

I had JES Reboring convert a 8x57 Brno to 9.3x62 so I was thinking about having him do it. I will give him a call and see if he has done it before

There used to be an outfit in Austria which sold newly manufactured M/S parts. I did a little business with them, but unfortunately they are no longer exist. I found another firm in Austria which offers parts at seemingly reasonable prices, but unfortunately they list only a telephone number as contact information. I will continue to try to get an email address and contact them.

This is the same site I located. I also determined how to ask questions. I have asked if any additional part, other than the rotor, will be required to make the conversion. I also asked what form of payment they will accept. (If they will accept credit cards, I think I will spring for a complete magazine unit.)
