Beautiful rifle. What caliber? I would be interested to see the barrel flats. Thanks for posting.

This gun is beautiful and while being Germanic, has some uniquely British characteristics such as the bolted safety or the front sight hood a la Westley Richards, not to mention the bottom rib treatment at the muzzle.
Another interesting fact is that the leaves are marked in Yards.
That is absolutely unnatural for a German gun.
Either it was built for the UK market, or it has been redone or finished in the UK.
The caliber choice is interesting and might shed more light on either possibility.
Best regards,
WC

Wow! a sight for 500 yards! Must be a flat shooting cartrigde! ( or a really tall rear sight)

Pretty double, Chemarq. How does it shoots?

That was so in this time . It's not in relation to the cartridge . You can find 600 yards sights on a hammer cape rifle 12 Bore - 577/450 Martini . Marketing !
