Great looking rifle.

What's the width across the breech?
What's the distance between the firning pins?
Is there a load engraved on the rifle?
What is the weight of that bullet?

Width across breech is 2.485"
width between centers of firing pins is 1.195"
The mould casts 1077gr with 20 to 1,i don't have the original hollow point pin so had to make one.
I asume this will be a bit heavy though so i am anticipating having to ether inlarge the hollow point or turn the bases on the lathe, any imput would be much appreciated.Bob

Also there is no loading on the rifle but i was told this should be a 7dram gun. Bob

Beautiful rifle. What is the bore and groove diameter of your rifle? Do you believe the mould to be original to the gun? I have alot of various 12 bore bullets in the .735 to .740 range.

Beautiful rifle. Any idea if it came out of India? Any shipping labels on the case from some sea voyage? Thanks for sharing.

I believe you bought this from GD. If it is the same, the gun came to this country via England by me. It is a very solid piece.

Bob-

Thanks for posting the requested measurements of these features of your rifle.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if it regulates with a 7 dram load of black.

I'll very much look forward to your field reports noting it's performance.

You'll hunt with this rifle, no?

Bob,

Absolutely splendid old girl you have there! May you have great hunts together in the USA and in Africa.

On a side note, I'm getting jealous of you Indiana guys - the beautiful guns that you find in your state are something that we poor folks in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Ill-Annoy cannot even dream of.

Good hunting!
