Hey Curl:
I'm not a fan of white-line spacers either, as you know, and used to remove them if possible on the rare occasion of acquiring a rifle so-adorned. Lately I have put them back, appreciating them as a characteristic of the era in which the particular rifle made its mark. Perhaps the 'collector' in me is finally winning-out over the 'practical shooter'...

In a post-WWII MS like that one, white-line spacers are something of a hallmark. If you do remove them, I would suggest keeping them in a safe place rather than chucking them away!

Marrakai and Andreas,

I have just about come to the same conclusion the two of you have stated.

It is what it is!

The 1960's were just like that. Was the white spacer an invention of Roy Weatherby? If so, just what was he thinking?

The Monte Carlo cheekpiece of the MCA is much better than the cheekpiece of the MC, and the comb of the 1950 isn't right either. All were trying to accommodate a scope. Of the three, I prefer the MCA.

But my opinions are just crap anyway!!!!
