Show your rear (sights).
      #101931 - 08/04/08 01:44 AM

Following the style of CptCurl threads why don’t we share pictures of rifle sights.
This is the rear sight on my W.Richards double rifle.
I have no standing leaf but three folding leafs at 100, 200 and 300 yds.

Thanks
Martin

PS: I want to see some express sight for my Kodiak sight proyect.

Hope you don't mind if I keep them on the gun. These sites filed as they are at the request of the original owner who frequently shot driven game (tiger).

Hello
Here is a peep sight Alex made for a complete custom build Mauser 98 in 7x57 that he completed about 2 years ago.. Turn the disc clock-wise and the peep clicks up into place, reverse that and it drops down out of the way.

On my Jeffery .450 No. 2 NE.

The "long range" leaves (ie up to 500 yards) on the express sight are rather optimistic!

Not a double rifle sight but it is kind of unique. It is on a Fraser 375EX.It has one standing and two folding on one set and two folding on another.

I suspose the double barrels takes some of the precision out of the long range express sights however they should be capable at descent hunting ranges. Have you tried them at longer ranges, say 200 and 300 yards?
: The 3 leaves on my 14 bore rifle are perfectly zero'd at 100 for the standing sight, 150, 200 and 300 meters for the leaves. Nothing obtimistic about those.
: Forwyth's double 14 bore rifle was good to at least 250 yards, as he made a good shot on a Sambur stag at the range with it, a mere 2 1/2 drams of powder too for both shoulders as recorded in his book of 1860.

These are turn of the century clip-on "night sites". Lewis Drake refers to them as "tiger" sites. They do work well if there is any light source (moon) behind you at all.
