I have recently acquired a .270 MCA with a single trigger. The current trigger pull is somewhere around 4-5lbs with a fair amount of creep. My question is, can the adjustment screw behind the trigger be used to improve the"crispness" of the trigger or does it simply adjust the weight of the trigger pull?

That screw does not adjust weight of pull. It adjusts trigger to trigger lever engagement, so you may adjust it from a double-pull trigger to a fairly crisp release, without slack. Caution: If turned in too much, it will reduce sear engagement also, leading to a dangerous condition. You have to experiment, trying several positions until you find a pull you can live with.

Thanks Kuduae, I appreciate the information. I had the rifle out for a brief range test yesterday and it seems to have potential. Hopefully the weather here in Wisconsin will warm up and I can do a more serious accuracy test. While the trigger has more creep then I like, I was still able to work with it. I will be fairly conservative with any adjustments.
