They were a great source of guns for Americans. I still have my Marlin 22 LR bolt action, AYA Matador 12ga, and a Weaver K4 with their "rangefinder reticle" I bought from them in the early 60's, when we could still just mail order shotguns, rifles, and handguns...no restrictions.

I wouldn't say that the way things were -is- a bad idea for now in America.
If some snot wants to get a rifle and do bad things with it, they will. The law won't change that at all.
