Get with the program Art, you are lacking in the fastest .30 cal. yet.
3,050fps with 220gr. for 4,545fpe.

Was wondering. I knew the 1000 yard club in Pennsylvania used them or something VERY similar for their 1000 yard ground hog shoot. Ah yes, name just came to me "Dumoulin".

Yes, I agree. I personally will not shoot anything that I cannot handle without a muzzle brake. I have never shot the .30-.378 as it is way over bore, something I try to avoid, but I have shot all of the regular Wby cartridges at one point or another. When loaded to full steam...and there is little reason to own a big Weatherby if you are not going to use all of that speed...the .378, .416 and .460 fall into the too much of a good thing.

AS to Weatherby, my all time favorite is the .257 Weatherby..actually had 2 customs built on Rem actions, Hart barrels .. incredible shooters.. fantastic for mule deer and smaller game such an pronghorn.. I settled in on 100Gr Barnes Triple Shocks, which hold up to that velocity.. Have the 100grs moving along at around 3670fps.. devastating effects on game..

Ripp...I agree completely about the .257 Weatherby. Have had a couple and it is a wonderfully flat shooting cartridge that really thumps deer and speed goats. Used it quite a bit when I live in Alberta or hunted down in WY and MT for antelope. Now that I am back in British Columbia I usually carry something with a bigger hole in the end of the barrel as I spend most of my time hunting in northern BC or points north for moose, etc. But if I ever get to go back antelope hunting in my two favourite states I will undoubtedly be carry the .257 Bee.
