300 Holland & Holland Mag. Cartridge Remains a Hunter Favorite

The .300 H&H is a smooth-feeding magnum that still finds favor among hunters who appreciate firearms history.

I have had several rifles in .300 H&H over the years and it is still one of my favorites. It always ejects easily and has enough speed to get the job done. No doubt there is some nostalgia attached due to it's history.

While not as old a cartridge, it is the same reason I like the .308 Norma Magnum, but it has the added advantage of fitting in a regular size action. Probably the most efficient .30 mag when you consider design and performance. Too bad it is so hard to get brass for it. In Canada Norma brass is difficult to acquire as Norma shipments of reloading components is minimal each year. Not many gun stores carry Norma ammunition or components and if they do the price tends to cause most shooters to have a stroke.

Can't say that about .300 H&H brass. Not hard at all to get these days, now that it has had a resurgence in popularity.
