If you're into collecting and investing in firearms, here's are nine lever-action rifles to consider adding to your hard-asset portfolio.

Interesting. There sure were some deluxe rifles made in each model. I was surprised at the price the deluxe Model 71 got in 2021.

President Theodore Roosevelt romanticized the 1895 in .405 Win. after taking it to Africa and calling it his “Big Medicine Rifle.”

Incorrect. Roosevelt's "Big Medicine" rifle was his H&H .500/450 double rifle.

I'm not into some collecting as an investment idea. But I would be looking for a Winchester 1873 in .45 Colt, a Savage 99 perhaps in .22 HiPower. A Winchester 1895 in .405. And a Sako Finnwolf in .308 Win.

Completely different criteria though.

Hard to take the list seriously when they don’t have a Volcanic on it. Maybe they are too collectible (too few of them and too expensive). A friend of mine that passed away last year was a big collector of them, he also had Winchesters and other makes but towards the end he focused on the Volcanics.

Pretty sure, no 73's were made in .45 Colt (.44/40instead), however the Pedersoli, Cimmaron and maybe Uberti replicas are chambered in that ctg., seems to me.
With cowboy Action shooting being popular, that rifle is in short supply.

The Uberti '73's also come in .357 Mag., as-do the Cimmaron's.

Ha ha, I'm not talking original Win 1873! . As I said mine would be for actual shooting, not safe queens. Got too many safe queens now.

One of those would be nice. Good looking too.

I would match a replica .45 Colt 1873 with it as well. The pair of handgun and lever action will go with my Coober Pedy Akubra or my Peruvian Andean Gaucho hats.

I've been trying to buy a black and white cowboy bandana mask as well for that urban 2022 look.

Might take up cowboy action shooting as well.

A matching .357 handgun and rifle makes good prepper apocalypse sense.

Or both in .45 Colt, where even BP could be possible.

Of course, you have to have 2 of everything, just because you have (or should) have 2 handguns, you will need 2 shotguns and 2 (or more) rifles.
Also need a bigger ctg. rifle for the 'Sunday" challenges.
I cleaned up on one of those, with my Uberti .50/95 Model 1876, knocking over 12 sil's (one loading) from 50 to 200 meters.

SharpsNitro, well stated. Also the author only focused on Winchesters. I don't consider a model 71 collectible (though some may disagree). The only 95s that are interesting (again, to me) are the sporting models in 35WCG & 405WCF.

There are collectible Marlins, Kennedys, Burgesses, and early Savage 99s (at least from my view).
I think a 1918 takedown Savage 99 in 22HP is much more interesting than a clunky 1960 Winchester 71.

Nothing clunky about any 71 I ever handled.
My quite new, Model 1886/71 Pedersoli is amazingly smooth.
