Fine Example of Factory Light Sporter
      #242477 - 16/02/14 03:46 AM

I just acquired this 1955 Brno Model 22. It is possibly unfired and is complete with front sight hood. It has an outstanding piece of wood for a factory Brno. Since it was in the last of the production run, it has the "Blitz" trigger from the ZG 47 and the round bolt knob. I think these rifles were among the best factory light sporters ever made.

I really like the lines of that M-S carbine stock.

As for calibre, I'm guessing it is a 7x57mm.

Why not have some guesses until TexasJohn replies.

You are correct in that it is a 7x57. To the best of my knowledge these rifles were chambered in 6.5x57, 7x57, 7x64, 8x60, and 8x57. Most of my Brnos are Model 21s, but I do have a pristine early rifle just like it that has the round-top receiver, double set triggers, butter knife bolt handle and no guild rib on the bolt. Really nice examples are hard to find without having been drilled and tapped, recoil pads added, etc.
