NITROX, we dont have an airgun forum here!
      #186477 - 25/07/11 02:06 AM

I was making pics from my only and beloved air gun for bokmal but instead of send him the pics with an mail thought it could be a filler now when we have sommer holidays. think its the first airgun on nitroexpress ever, take it as a curiosity.

post war Haenel/ Suhl but based on pre war airguns made as a gift in the 70s or 80s with the original 4,5mm and a second 5,5 mm barrel. original pre war Zeiss Ziel 4 scope on the Suhler Einhakmontage - claw mount.
now paid with hard money from collectors no doubt in this time retiered and laying in a box with old parts geting a second chance.

the SEM is made with "Durchblick" so you can use the iron sight's also when the scope is in place

the muzzle's

4,5mm pellet, 5,5mm pellets, roundball and bolt

Is that a standard rifle scope or one specifically designed for 'springers'?

CO2 and compressed air don't need special scopes, but springers do.

Ahhh, Lancaster, the can of worms you have opened...

There are air rifles for larger game, maybe time for a DR?

I would not shoot that scope, myself. A heavy springer will usually destroy just about any normal 'modern' scope due to the direction of the recoil being opposite to the scopes internal construction reinforcement. RF and CF scopes are not normally built to take the opposite direction of recoil that a springer produces.

Perhaps you are right and that the scope will not be harmed - perhaps. That is was made for the 8x57 Mauser or any other CF rifle or ctg. - .338 Lapua, .5 Browning or whatever makes no different, btw.

Since it is fairly low powered, perhaps no problems will surface, hope not. 10mm is quite low for penetration.

Custom venom vantage (hw77) air rifle pics [Re: Bokmal]
      #234477 - 20/08/13 10:40 AM

Attached are images of a .177 venom vantage (Weihrauch Hw77) customised by Steve Pope of V Mach, UK.

The internals are tuned with a new venom custom piston, spring, spring guides etc, the action was engraved followed by re blue. Steve made a new stock.

The re-shaped and polished Venom straight blade has a first stage length set to 3/32". Its a very light trigger setting for a Rekord. One can still rock the first stage back and forth without it hanging up, so it is a safe as well as light trigger.

The photographs do not do justice to the quality of work. A real pleasure to shoot..

Nice to start a thread on airguns. Iīve been shooting them since I was about 6 years old, had more than a few. My favourite "springer" was a BSF 55 made in Bavaria. They are not around anymore and havenīt been for years but was it accurate with iron sights only. I currently have a Daystate Air Ranger, see below, 10 shot .22 charged with a divers airbottle, one charge is good for about 70 shots. The factory will set it up to the power level you want, mine is at about 28 ft pds and sends an 18 grain .22 pellet at around 900 fps. The nice bit is it has a supressor in the end so all it does is pop ! Good for rabbits out to about 45 yards and I can use it in the garden without annoying the neighbours

best, Mike
