I remember many years ago donkey, buff cullers in choppers used a variety of semi auto rifles for mass culling but with the gun buyback and now these rifles are very restricted ,what now is the most used rifle for this sort of work?

SLR I think the other one they like is the M1 or Msomething. The odd one has an SKS type.
I think if people had the money they'd buy a H&K or something like that.

In the states the most popular semi would be the SKS--Cheap and shooting the 7.62 round.
We really don't have any culling except for does on hunting clubs and those fellows use bolts.
Personally I am not fond of the SKS.I like an accuratized Ruger ranch rifle in 7.62. M1 carbines are similar.Light and handy. The AR-15 is nice but pricey. In a bigger semi the AR-10 and equivilents(DPMS 308) are nice and very accurate with scope. HK 91's and FN FAL's are nice but heavy.
Its all about personal preference.

The SLR or L1A1 and the M14 are what I remember they used due to high magazine capacity which the sporters do not have , I thought they may have shifted to pumps or levers due to the bullshit gunlaws, but a report on tv recently showed a M14 being used on donkeys from a chopper so I presume these type rifles are still being used , which brings me to a question which is the better rifle
SLR L1A1 M14 HK 91 others?

You got them in one.
The M14 was the one I was thinking of.
Yes, most cullers own and use semi autos.
