The .425 Westley Richards has a rebated rim. Not exactly ideal for a double rifle. I prefer a rimmed cartridge for a double rifle, or at least one with a full size rim.

I agree, and it seems a bit strange to use a rebated rim on a double rifle but WR have made many such double rifles over time with the 425 WR cartridge so it must work without any problems. I mainly posted the link as thought the rifle itself was hard to beat as far as style and finish, at least in my opinion. I have always been a fan of scroll-back box lock rifles and the stock shape and forend size are very nice, and it is a drop-lock as well.

I mean WR must be absolut certain the action handle this rebated rim cartridge without problem so it must be ok.

I'd like to see the extractor system up close.

yes, detail would be interesting
the extractor must slip into the rebated rim under any conditions but don't have the chance to get out before the case is free

for a dangerous game rifle is must be idiotproof

This double is incredibly beautiful!!!!! I personally would not make such a large investment and then choose to chamber it in a rebated rim cartridge. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should, but that is just my humble opinion. In any event, I would be proud to own such a magnificent rifle!!!!
