I wonder how many pinched fingers and nasty blood blisters this guy has endured to get that act finely honed?

A gent named Mike DiMuzzio was making reproductions of the prop guns used on 'The Rifleman' TV series of the late 1950s by converting Rossi and other replica Model 1892 Win's.
Unfortunately, he died in 2015 and no one is continuing his work. Perhaps I should have bought one a few years back.

I don't see how they can call it a 'draw' when the shooter's hand was already on the grip, not to mention the angle of the holster in their 'ready' position.
Here's Sammy Davis, Jr.,who was an expert: Fast Draw
Some fancy spinning: Spin
From the NRA Museum: NRA Sammy
James Garner trained by Joe Bowman: Garner - Bowman
This guy shoots a .31 (using the style of the shooter's .295 in Ripp's video) on the Steve Allen Show. The demonstration starts at 5:45: Fast Draw .31
Competition fast draw times (and styles) explained: Fast Draw Styles

Currently the SASA world record for speed with a lever action is 10 shots in 1.57 seconds.
This is jointly held by "Deuce Stevens" and "Lead Dispenser" (Spencer Hoglund).
Rifle is on shoulder, 10 shots in mag with an empty chamber. Begin at buzzer. I believe all shots must hit steel.
Google search it and you'll be amazed at the speed.
yes they use "mouse fart" loads. yes the targets are close and as big as "barn doors" but you've got to appreciate how fast these guys can operate a Lever Action.
All detractors should attempt this feat before "chiming in". Time yourself...…….you'll be surprised at how much can happen in a second.
I shoot Western Action and have shot against National champions...…………….viewed from afar with awe...……. and their operation of a lever action and transition between targets is something to be seen...………..Makes me feel very "slow twitch".
When you see the best of them draw and operate single action revolvers, pickup and operate a lever action rifle and then load, shoot and reload a side by side shotgun (or a pump, or a lever shotgun) you've got to appreciate the speed and dexterity of some people.
I have often worried about the antigunners/politicians getting a look at how fast a lever action rifle can be operated and wondering if they'll want to ban them next...…….fast firing and 10 shot magazines.

Very fast on the rifle and hand gun. Way faster than I can dream of.
I forget the order but Sammy Davis Jr and Jerry Lewis were both in the top 5 for draw speed with a hand gun in their day.

I once hit a Cape buffalo four times in the shoulder as he ran past me at about 40 yards using my bolt action .505 SRE (same ballistics as the .500 NE). Three of the four shots could be covered with a playing card. The rifle weighs 8 3/4 pounds and the recoil energy is over 90 ft/lbs.
That's what I would call useful speed.
