I could make some room in the safe for that. At 9 & 1/2 I bet it kicks like a .22 rim fire.

Sweet rifle but it looks re-color hardened to me - i'm sure I must be mistaken.

Better sell the house to afford that one! Remarkable piece & with a real history! Would I be wrong in saying it looks like a rimmed (& necked down) 7x57 case? http://www.municion.org/Purdey/246Purdey.htm

Beautiful and probably sleek and light DR. One would hope the frame and weight of the rifle matches the cartridge size.
While it would spoil its balance somewhat, a cartridge like that would cry out for a decent modern optic/scope. But as it is not fitted for one, only a fool would fit one now.
A 6mm DR should wear a decent 1-6x type scope or a small red dot sight.
A 6mm DR would make a dandy rifle for hog deer, feral pigs, goats, and especially roos in close country. And of course smaller deer species such as fallow, chitals, roes of course. Plus American whitetail. And where legal still would be a killer on reds and rusa. Many African antelope as well.
