I'm not sure if I am particularly cursed but I have had some terrible experiences with gun smiths in the last three years. DG rifle delivered that would not feed and with the wrong sights and sling mounts, also two years late. Ruger #1 never delivered, guy disappeared. Two rifles I paid for, actions returned no work done, no refund of deposit. Marlin lever delivered 2 years late.
I have had great success with Wayne from AHR, but he is very busy with full custom rifles he just can't do much genral gun smithing. I have a rifle on order from Joe Smithson that I am excited about, but he is swamped and really only does supper high end stuff.
I have a new Ruger 275 Rigby and an older Sako Safari 375 H&H that I would like bedded, actions tried up and a metal pin put in the wrist of the 375. I used Hill Countyr rifle a few years ago and they where quite good but they have upped prices and don't seem excited to do that kind of work anymore.
Anyone have some one good, reasonably realizable and so,what punctual they could recommend in the USA?

Give Chester's a call at (631) 738-6991.
He should know someone local who can handle those simple jobs without you having to ship the gun out of state.
