Very interesting original Mauser full stock

I just saw this full stock factory Mauser commissioned in the inter-war years. The full stock treatment looks really interesting and I wonder if anyone here would know about this and comment on it.

Thanks and good hunting!

Mehul

Thanks for that. Unusual and a definite inclusion in our Classic Mauser Archive.

NitroX,

Thanks. I had to share this picture here. Hopefully, it would inspire someone to get a rifle built modeled on this one.

Who knows? I might try to do that myself, someday.

Best wishes and good hunting!

What a gorgeous piece! I'm a great fan of double set triggers myself though I have found full-stock rifles rather a trial to get to shoot well.

Full-stocked rifles maybe...

..but full-stocked carbines are invariably tack-drivers!

I have two perfect examples of this phenomenon:
Sako L-46 .222
Mannlicher-Schoenauer 1903 6.5mm
Both will shoot at least as well as any bedded long-barrel sporter I have ever encountered!

That Mauser is indeed a thing of beauty, and quite intriguing, though not exactly what I would call 'full-stocked' in the traditional sense.
