Delayed Blowback should do it. To bad Ruger and Remington couldn't figure that out especially with the 17HM2 round.

I love the 17HMR--have used it effectively on varmints all the way up to coyotes..will hammer a prairie dog no problem at 250 with plenty of "tipping over power"

This is going to be a fun little rifle...

Yes- been following this over on the small bore forum. Couple guys have the rifle, and others trying the ammo out in their standard HMRs.

I just chronographed my Marlin 21" bl. the other day.
20gr. WW brand ammo with HP's averaged 2,509fps instead of listed 2,375fps, while the Hornady brand ammo with 17gr. Vmax averaged 2,621fps instead of 2,550fps.

This was standard ammo, not the higher velocity stuff advertised for the Semi-auto. I'd like to find some of that ammo up here, but it will be like Frog's hair and Hen's teeth- for a while, at lease.

Prices on the new ammo is running $52.00 to $65.00 per box of 200.

Windy, wasn't it.

I have a BUNCH of the Hornady stuff..have 3-- 17HMR's.. use them a lot in the spring summer for gophers and whatever else I stumble into..

Saw some Hornady for sale here recently it was around $14. for a box of 50 I believe..
