An old clunker
      #263265 - 08/04/15 09:16 AM

Bought this old PH `98 actioned .300 WM a couple of years ago.Got a 2.5-8 Leuey for it and have decided to roll a deer with it one of these days/weeks/months/years!
It originally came with a steel butt plate and with a pared down barrel it was lucky to weigh 6 lbs. Now for a .300 thats not real good..got a better pad on her and a few minor tasks done by the `smith and shes ready to rumble with a few plastic pointed hydros.

Interesting, wood, Gryph. Stained maple, or walnut? With the crotch in the butt (where else would it be?) on the right side, looks rather walnut, but the striping is not normal.

There is a plank of walnut in the back of my truck, much like that for curl - it is walnut, but we don't know, French or English.

I was given the word "walnut" in the sale...and also the name "G Slee" as well Daryl.I dont think its stained just clear over. It`ll do for a bush basher.

gryphon
looks pretty damn good to me, will be lively to say the least!
How do you find the new hydros feeding, the old ones in my 9.3 were really problematic & didn't group all that well. Didn't continue with the testing after that.
The performance on game however is another matter altogether, seen what a .416 Rem did to a water buffalo, end to end & out!

93 I haven't pushed any plastic through as yet.. Will advise when I do.the feed is OK in my hydro shooters as far as now.

Ash I try and use my rifles for the occasion last time it was my 358 in my claw though I did carry the 308nm recently but of the six fallow I saw none rang my bell.
