HS PRECISION, Inc. factory tour...
      #247769 - 23/05/14 10:51 PM

Had the privilege of touring the HS Precision rifle factory in Rapid City South Dakota yesterday..watched them drill the barrels, install the rifling, cut down the barrels, how stocks were made, receivers, etc..incredibly interesting...the final product has a 1/2" accuracy guarantee at 100yds. through .30 caliber --they make about 8 per day..considering there are over 80 employees at the plant, it shows how much care is really put into each firearm..

They have numerous government contracts so photos inside were not allowed..

I have had one of their rifles since 2001--have taken it all over the world with me..along with shooting numerous elk, deer, bear and antelope here in the US...most accurate rifle I have ever owned..it is chambered in 300RUM.

Well, I can tell you that only one bolt lug makes contact on my HS .223 so they can't be that well made. Despite that it does shoot well tho.

Cheers.

Have you contacted them or sent it back to be fixed?

Just curious as I have had quite a bit of contact with them and have nothing but positive experiences with them..own probably a half dozen of their stocks..in addition to one or two of their rifles...also have several friends with them as well..all shoot incredibly well with no issues..

No one company is perfect IMHO...if my rifle was not what I should have purchased I would get it fix by the company.

Hi Ripp

No, I didn't bother. It's too much of a pain from Australia, and since it shoots quite well I thought it best to leave well enough alone. Just annoys me that they come out of the factory with what to my mind is a fundamental short fall in the potential accuracy department.

Cheers mate.

I agree and assumed that was the reason--disappointing to hear...especially in lieu they dont give those away...Their newest model runs around $4000. new...

If I can help out in anyway over here let me know..

Take care
