Thanks Ripp. First i have heard of it. Would like to hear some reports from owners.

I like the Kimbers, nicely done for a production rifle and no superfluous weight. I have a 260 Montana and a 30-06 84L.

Cheers,

Chris

I bought a Montana in 338 Federal when they first came out. Could not get the thing to shoot better then 4 inches. I sent it back and they rebarreled it and it shot pretty close to 1 moa. Three week turn around.

Once I got it shooting from the bench i realized I could not shoot it offhand at all, way to light.

It's been sitting at my scum bag gunsmith for over three years to get a laminate mannlicher stock put on. He quoted a six month delivery time! I have 14 calls into him and every time it's an excuse an a garuanty it will be 2 to 3 weeks.

I just contacted my insurance company and did a police report. He had done 5 or 6 custom guns for me before this, I don't know if he developed a heroine problem or something but i would avoid Reggan Nooneman in Massouri In the future.

Not sure how this became a rant but it's been eating at me, sorry.

All I know is I have numerous Kimber handguns and I really like them...they are all in either .45 or 10MM...just something how a model 1911 fits the hand...no other auto quite does that for me...

As to rifles, I know several who have the ascent and are very happy with it..as you stated, a very well put together rifle...I personally think getting one and having it rebarrelled to 6.5/284 would be an incredible mtn rifle...

As to your gunsmith, yeah, I would have dropped in long ago and grabbed that gun to have the work done elsewhere..if they cant get it done in a year they are too busy for my interests and I go elsewhere..life is short..
