Hello Karl,
Prechtl company in Germany presented this year on the IWA fair a magazine floor plate with enlarged capacity, the so-called Rigby floor plate.
link: http://www.prechtl-waffen.de/Prechtl/de/Waffenteile/Mauser_Bauteile_
please scroll down to: Rigbydeckel für K98
my translation (maybe not correct in technical terms): Rigby magazine floor plate for K98
This Rigby magazine floor plate can be assembled to every 98 rifle, which has a magazine release with the tension loaded release bolt. The shallow standard floor plate is replaced without any modification with the Rigby-floor plate. The original fololower and follower spring can be used. Magazine capacity will be raised up to two cartridges, depending on caliber. No gunsmith necessary for assembly.

My sight is also on an "island", very high like the photo except I think it only has the ONE fixed blade.
Tall blade with a U notch in it.

The 9,3Brenneke is a nice classic , but if I wanted to create as much gab from the Otto Bock, then a 9,3x70 DWM would make more sense.

It´s a real boomer but I would prefer .404/375. Both have same parent case and .375 bullets are a tad heavier.

Interesting link Igorock. Does this 98 metal then work on a modern zastava as well?

I´m not sure because those two magazines lenght is different. Maybe you have to ask Prechtl....

Thanks igorock I will do that.
Well all I have done some more thinking on the 9.3x64 and leaning towards a 26" barrel and ability to seat bullets out in a decent length magazine to do justice to the cartridge. So at this stage the easy factory 9.3x62 conversions are probably out due to their short barrels.I will be getting John clapham in NSW to do the work as he is top class, has the reamer and is a 9.3x64 owner to boot. I can probably rely on his knowledge to get what I want out of this now. Thanks again for all the input which will assist my discussions with him!
