I just got my new rifle.
A Varberger (Swedish custom rifle) in caliber 35 Whelen. Spent haf the day at the shooting range to break in the barrel and to sight the scope. I am very pleased with the bullets I use since the 200 grainer only shoots 2 inch higher than the 250 grainer on 100 meters. I use the Rhino Bullets.
Here are some photos.

Groupings are good, cant say so much yet since I am testing different loads and seatings on several bullets.
Worst would be little over an inch and best so far is three bullets nothole in hole but making one big hole

Christer, That is a sweet looking rifle. What bullet is loaded in it? It looks like the FailSafe but they don't list a .35. Now you need to come to the US and try it out on one of our elk. The .35 Whelen is a classic elk round. Keep us posted as to what it shoots like.

The bullets are Rhino Bullets (produced in South Africa) 200 grains, I also have them in 250 grains.
I would love to use the gun for Elk hunting, that would be great. How does that work? Is it like lottery or can you just by a tag?

First shooting results. The not so well grouped shoots are to be blamed on me.......

It works both ways here in Wyoming. As a resident I can apply for a special permit area or get a general tag over the counter. Nonresidents have to apply. If you want you can go to http://gf.state.wy.us/ and check out the rules and regulations. You can also download the license application etc.

Christer, Here in Colorado, elk licenses for many areas are available over the counter for residents and non-residents alike. My relatives have been using me as a non-paid guide when they come here from other states. Hmph If interested, might be able to include you in this relative/free guide service. Max
