that 35 Whelen Mauser 98 I bought from a fine fellow on AR.com is finally home from the gunsmith (new safety and waiting on work to another gun).
It is actually in excellent shape, I need to do a couple of "clean-up" touches (heat-tret a few dings...) but it is one seriously NICE gun!
I will hopefully be killing trees with it tomorrow afternoon...

I'm going to swing by my parent's place (the safe is there) and borrow their digital camera tomorrow, hope to have stuff posted here sooner as opposed to later.
I need to get some stuff hosted though...
the one thing that I am struggling with is how to take pictures of it that aren't boring???
I'd like to snap a few of the No. 1 H&H too... and maybe my ithica "pair"
actually, I know how the ithica pic should look... the others are more difficult.
and I'll show you guys my "cat killer" too!

Well, dude, you have plenty of time to work up some trial loads before you get your grubby paws on it. No use going 10% below max, just go 5% below max and go slow as I remember some of the Whelens I've shot in the past have always shot better with near max loads anyways.
